Le Havre Prospect Signs For The Cherries
Young French starlet Lys Mousset has agreed a deal with Bournemouth following his exciting breakthrough season with second division Le Havre.
The centre-forward penned a four-year deal with Bournemouth following his explosive form at this summer’s U20 tournament in Toulon, and is seen as a clear signing for the future, who could have his shot at the Premier League if strikers such as Callum Wilson suffer injury.
Shortly after the two clubs confirmed the transfer, Les Ciel et Marine’s owner Vincent Volpe confirmed that the transfer fee was €7.4 million, which is arguably a large sum for such an unknown signing.
Mousset’s former-club Le Havre narrowly missed promotion to Ligue Un this season, finishing fourth out of twenty and are seen as somewhat a yo yo club in France, similar to that of Hull or Norwich.
Lys scored fourteen times in thirty-four appearances during his time at France, with most of those appearances coming from this season just gone.
Bournemouth chief executive Neill Blake said this after the confirmation of the transfer:
“We’re always planning for the future and Lys is not only a young player with exciting potential, but someone who had a massive impact for their club last season”” We look forward to welcoming him to Vitality Stadium and believe he will only continue to improve under the tutelage of Eddie and Jason (Tindall).”
Bournemouth have showed some positive signs so far in this transfer window as they look to enjoy a second successive year in the Premier League.
