Bjorn Engels was tipped for a summer move to Bournemouth in the transfer window but for one reason or another, the deal didn’t go through.

Bournemouth are believed to have made an offer for the Belgian midfielder but a shoulder injury sustained in the Champions League put an end to any potential transfer.

Indeed, but then I hurt my shoulder in that first Champions League match against Leicester after what would turn out to be my best half of the season. I was out for three months and couldn’t show my level again. I’m cursed that I didn’t get that transfer.

Despite Bournemouth’s offer for the player, Club Brugge did sell Engles in the transfer window to Greek giants Olympiakos.
