Bournemouth have strengthened well in midfield and attack during the January transfer window but there is always room for improvement. The improvement for the Cherrie needs to be the backbone o the team; central defense, one of the most crucial positions on the pitch.
Don’ get me wrong, Bournemouth’s defense hasn’t done badly this season but with the likes of Sylvain Distin and Simon Francis not getting any younger, I think we can all agree that centre back is somewhere Bournemouth will be looking to improve this Summer.
Who do you want Bournemouth to sign?
Karim Rekik - Olympique Marseille
The Manchester City youth product transferred to France last summer, following loan spells at PSV Eindhoven, Blackburn Rovers and Portsmouth. The Dutch under 21 international is behind Nicolas N’koulou and Rolando in the pecking order at Marseille and would maybe favour a move back to England to secure regular first team football.
Market value: £3m
Bruno Gonzalez - Real Betis
The versatile centre-half can also play at right-back. The Spaniard is only 26 years of age but 6″1. Gonzalez has bags of experience and would suit Bournemouth pretty nicely.
Market value: £1.88m
Juan Jesus - Inter Milan
The Brazillian powerhouse has made over 100 appearances for Inter already and he is only 24-years-old. He stands at 6″1 and can also deputise at left-back. Predominantly left-footed.
Market value: £6.75m
Inigo Matinez - Real Sociedad
The Spaniard is capped at every level for Spain and has come through the ranks at his current club, Real Sociedad. He made his debut for the Spanish national team on 14 August 2013, coming on as a second-half substitute for Sergio Ramos in a 2–0 friendly win over Ecuador. He is quick across the ground and is leap is second to none. He could definitely adapt to the standards of the Premier League very quickly.
Market Value: £9m
Terence Kongolo - Feyenoord
The Dutch defender is 6″2 and very athletic. He has been linked with some of Europe’s biggest clubs, including Inter Milan and fellow Dutch club Ajax Amsterdam. Kongolo can also play left-back and is only 20-years-old – somebody who could play for the Cherries for a long time.
