Bournemouth Confirm Ibe Signing
AFC Bournemouth have confirmed the signing of Jordan Ibe for a club record £15 million from Liverpool.
Ibe is the South coast club’s fifth signing of the summer, as Eddie Howe strengthens his side ahead lf the new Premier League campaign. The signing has been on the cards for the last week or two, as Jürgen Kopp begins his clear out as Liverpool boss.
The Reds’ loss is the Cherries’ gain however, as they add the England youth international to their ranks. The 21 year-old has played for England Under-21’s five times and made a big impression on Merseyside in the last season and a half.
After a blistering start to the 2014-15 campaign on loan at Derby in the Sky Bet Championship, Brendan Rodgers recalled the tricky winger. Last campaign, the youngster feature 27 times in the league, however has been deemed surplus to requirements as Klopp shapes his own Liverpool side.
Bournemouth chief executive Neill Blake was pleased with the signing and told the club website;
We’re delighted to bring Jordon to the football club. “He played plenty of football with Liverpool last season and we’re looking forward to seeing him to continue to grow now with us, he’s a huge prospect.
With five signings already confirmed, it seems Eddie Howe is getting his business done early and may not stop whilst he’s at it.
