Preview: Manchester City v Bournemouth
We’re already four matches into the new Premier League season and the Cherries are sitting in 14th position having gone unbeaten in their last two games. An expected loss to Manchester United was followed by a narrow away defeat to West Ham at the new ‘London Stadium’.
More recently, Bournemouth fell agonisingly close to their first win of the season but failed to secure the victory due to Scott Dann’s final minute winner. However, Callum Wilson managed to grab a goal in the closing stages to clinch an important home win against West Brom.
Next up, an away trip to Manchester City. The only team that are still faultless in the entirety of England’s professional leagues. City will be looking to continue their form after beating their fierce rivals, United, 2-1 at Old Trafford. In addition, the Champions league club faced Borussia Monchengladbach on the European stage and ran out with a stunning 4-0 win as Sergio Aguero bagged a hat-trick.
Attempting to keep this man shut will be Artur Boruc. The big Pole has had a cracking start to the 2016/17 season with a penalty save and a number of impressive performances that, at times, has saved the Cherries. The goalkeeper is running away with Bournemouth’s August Player of the Month vote and will be hoping to keep another clean sheet away at the Etihad on Saturday.
