AFC Bournemouth are reportedly one of a cluster of Premier League clubs keen on a move for Swansea City midfielder Dan James.
The Bournemouth Echo cite the Daily Mail in writing that James is also of interest to defending champions Manchester City after impressing Pep Guardiola in their FA Cup tie two weeks ago.
The 21-year-old only made his first-team debut in February 2018 but has gone on to have a fantastic season for the Swans this time around.
He has scored three goals and provided six assists, as well as bamboozling teams with his pace and trickery on the ball.
The winger looked set to move to Championship rivals Leeds United in the January transfer window in a £10m deal and was even at the Whites’ Thorp Arch training ground for a medical and signing interviews.
However, the plug was pulled at the very last minute by the Welsh club and the player’s agent called the situation ‘very disappointing’ at the time.
James is a team-mate of Cherries players David Brooks and Chris Mepham at international level, having earned two caps for Ryan Giggs’ Wales.
Southampton are thought to be one of the numerous other clubs tracking his progress, with it looking likely that he will leave the Liberty Stadium in the summer.
